Disposable compostable spoons are made from corn! This plant-based material is crystalized polylactic acid (CPLA) also referred to as Ingeo. This particular material has an additive called talc, which allows the Ingeo material to withstand higher temperatures. These are a great alternative to petroleum-based products. Our line consists of three different manufactures (Jaya, World Centric, and Better Earth) so we can provide the exact look you are searching for. Each manufacturer uses the same material with a slightly different mold design for aesthetics. These are freezer safe, not microwavable, and will commercially compost within 90-120 days.
